Who This Blog Is For

This is a blog for regular people. I don’t mean this is an ordinary site – far from it! But this site is designed for you.

You don’t have to be famous, rich, thin, motivated, young, privileged, or anything else to benefit from the advice here, or to participate in the discussion.

Anybody with a longing for a simpler life is welcomed here with open arms.

What You Can Expect To Find Here

Things you can expect to hear about on this blog include:

Consumerism. Consumerism urges you to consume more, under the false premise that consuming brings happiness. Consumerism plays the part of the villian on this blog.

Minimalism. Minimalism is the first of this blog’s three core concepts, and the arch-enemy of consumerism. It urges you to consume less, allowing you to enjoy life more. It calls many consumerist habits into question, in the attempt to create freedom.

Simplicity. Simplicity is the second of the core concepts.  It looks at complex systems and asks two questions – “why?” and “is there a better way?” It loves nothing more than to challenge your preconceived notions.

Frugality. Frugality is the third of the core concepts.  It looks at expenditures of both time and resources with a single-minded focus on receiving maximum value for what it gives.

My Promise To You

I’m not going to tell you that you have to sell everything you own and go backpacking around Asia to “do epic stuff”.

Minimalism, simplicity and frugality don’t require a backpack. They don’t require a change of location.  They don’t even require a change of wardrobe.

Neither does the advice on this blog.

The focus here is on practical, applicable, solid advice that will enable starving college students, middle class paper pushers, retired millionaires, and everybody in-between to accomplish extraordinary changes in their lives.

Won’t You Join Me?

As I said, this blog is written for you. It would mean the world to me if you’d drop me a note telling me about yourself, and letting me know how I can help you with your journey.

I also suggest you sign up for free updates via e-mail or RSS, so you can stay up-to-date on what’s going on. There’s lots of great content still to come!

As always, if there’s anything I can do to help you on your journey, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Oh, One More Thing

It’s sad, but even blogs have to have a few disclaimers. Let’s skip the legalese, and just say a few things clearly and simply:

You’re reading my blog to get information. I try to make it good, helpful information, and I hope it makes you happy, healthy, wealthy, and wise. That being said, nothing on this blog should be considered legal or professional advice. If you need the services of a doctor, lawyer, mechanic, priest, prestidigitator, braumeister, or any other professional person, please contact a professional that can analyze your situation first-hand and set you on the right track.

If I use a trademark, excerpt, symbol, or any other variety of somebody else’s intellectual property, I’m not challenging their rights. I’m not working for them. I don’t endorse them. They don’t endorse me. It’s pretty safe to assume I don’t have any relationship with them, unless I’ve stated otherwise.

Links may be affiliate links. If you happen to buy one of the products or services that I recommend, and you buy it through a link on my website, I want you to know that I may make a small commission on the sale.  It’s as simple as that.
